Stiki Admission Assessment PDF Print E-mail

Stiki Admission Assessment is part of the network of health-care assessments developed by Stiki. The system is a registration system for assessment panels on admission to residential or old people's homes.

A legislative act governing the admission assessment of the elderly was passed in 1990. Under the act, all persons requesting long-term residence in an institution must receive needs assessment on an equal basis. The assessment is four-fold: social conditions, physical ability, mental ability and proficiency.

Boosts effectiveness in health care

The goal is to ensure that those most in need receive priority. Assessment panels all around Iceland use the Admission Assessment system to register applications for assessment in a standardised fashion. The admission assessment data are stored centrally at Stiki.

Applications are registered on a waiting list, and the same person can on the waiting list of more than one institution at the same time. Stiki Admission Assessment eliminates the need for applications in paper form, which boosts processing efficiency substantially.
